The season is finally in full swing again! Time to stow away those bulky winter clothes and get your spring gear out. Just in time for the hot weather, Assos presented the Mille GT S11 range – and, as you’d expect from the Swiss, they’ve spared no expense when it comes to comfort.
We fully equipped our colleague Max with the new set and here is his review after testing the outfit for a while:

Mille GTS S11 Bib Shorts – comfort king
I’ve been wearing the S11 cycling shorts for a few weeks now and, to be honest, they’ve gone straight into my top 3.
The fit: From the moment you slip them on, they feel like a second skin. Nothing cuts in, nothing pinches, yet they still fit snugly. The leg cuffs are particularly brilliant – they don’t ride up, even when you’re really putting power on the pedals.
The core (padding): The cushioning is perfectly tuned. You can still feel the saddle beneath you, but the nasty vibrations and pressure points are gone. Especially on long rides or on varied terrain, I find that I tire much later.
Quality: Even after several washes in the washing machine, everything retains its shape. The materials feel very sturdy, and you can tell that every seam has been thought through.
In a nutshell: Whether it’s a quick evening ride or a full-day trip, the S11 is a sure bet. Comfortable, reliable and worth every penny.
Mille GT Jersey S11 Evo – Lightweight & Athletic
The Evo jersey was designed to match the trousers. You will immediately notice the very lightweight fabric.
Climate management: This garment wicks away sweat brilliantly. Even when your heart rate rises on a climb, the jersey doesn’t stick uncomfortably to your skin.
Fit: The fit is athletic and snug (that race-day feel!), yet still leaves you enough room to breathe when you’re in the drops.
One minor criticism: whilst the seams are sturdy, in some places I would have preferred an even flatter ‘seamless finish’ to reduce friction to an absolute minimum. But that’s really just nitpicking.
Mille GT Wind Vest S11 – The perfect all-rounder
For me, the vest is the series’ hidden gem, especially in this typical “april weather”.
Wind protection without that ‘plastic bag’ feel: the new Breaker fabric at the front provides excellent wind protection, yet still feels supple and doesn’t make that annoying rustling noise. It’s thinner in the back so you don’t end up stewing in your own sweat under the vest.
Packed size: It takes up so little space in your jersey pocket that you almost forget it’s there. Perfect for chilly downhill tracks or when you set off in the morning at 10 °C.
Versatility: It works just as well over a T-shirt as it does over a thin fleece on colder days.
The Mille GT S11 set is the perfect choice for anyone who wants performance without feeling like they’re squeezed into a sausage skin. The vest is an absolute must-have for changeable weather. If you’re looking for premium quality and a durable outfit, you’ve come to the right place!
