As I already wrote in my Karoo 2 review<\/a>, Hammerhead <\/a>takes a bold approach to bike computers. While modern GPS bike computers cost as much as premium smartphones, many still look like they were designed in the early 2000s. Of course, they serve a clear purpose: to collect and display data during rides and store it for post-ride analysis. But at this price point, shouldn’t we also expect a more modern user experience?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Perhaps that was exactly Hammerhead\u2019s thinking when developing the Karoo \u2013 a bike computer that is intuitive, modern, and simply enjoyable to use. The company achieved this through a combination of powerful hardware and an Android-based operating system, making the Karoo not only high-performance but also easy to use without having to learn entirely new technology. The Karoo 2 was already known for its quality and performance, but with the new Karoo, Hammerhead \u2013 now part of SRAM \u2013 brings a major upgrade to a fast-moving market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since last summer, I\u2019ve been using the Karoo regularly \u2013 for training sessions, social rides, and races. I\u2019ve used bike computers from various brands before and recently switched from the Karoo 2. Here are my impressions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
